In today’s evolving world, scientific literacy and innovation are crucial for addressing global challenges and driving progress. Recognizing the importance of fostering passion for science among young minds, Pfizer collaborated with my team to transform their School of Science program into an immersive mobile experience to inspire the next generation of scientists.

Housed within a state-of-the-art, double-expandable trailer, the Pfizer School of Science Mobile Experience immerses students ages 9–14 in an interactive learning environment modeled after an escape room challenge. Pfizer School of Science Mobile Experience traveled across the U.S. for over 20 weeks, delivering hands-on STEM education to thousands of students.

Room 1:

Get Briefed

As students enter the first room in this experience, they are welcomed by a BA who instructs them to put on their lab coats. Each student receives a file folder containing details about different patients infected with a mysterious illness. Their task is to carefully examine the profiles and identify what all the patients have in common. Only after uncovering this shared connection are they able to open the first door.

Room 2:

Gather Evidence

In Room 2, students enter a lab filled with collected samples and props representing various categories of microorganisms. Their mission as scientists is to explore the room and identify which microorganisms might be responsible for the illness. When they correctly match the organisms using light-up touchpads, a drawer unlocks, revealing the key to the next room.

Room 3:

Use Tech

In Room 3, light boxes on the walls transform the space to make it feel as though the scientists are inside a microscope. Oversized microscope slides of microorganisms line the walls, creating an immersive environment. To advance, students must solve a riddle and enter the correct code into a computer, which then reveals the key to the next room.

Room 4:

Create a Remedy

In this room, large magnetic antibodies and antigens are displayed on the walls, each labeled with a code. Students must find the correct pairings that fit together. The right combination serves as the “key” to unlock the door for Room 5.

Room 5:

Manufacture the Remedy

In Room 5, students dive into the final stage of the journey, preparing their remedy for those who need it. They follow a simulated quality control process, ensuring the treatment is ready for mass distribution. The room is designed to resemble a giant, vertical vial rack, with three identical manufacturing stations on each side, and a docking station for distribution located in the center of the room.

Once all vials are correctly placed in the rack, the pedestal lights up, and a voiceover announces their breakthrough, celebrating how their remedy is now making a global impact.

My Role

Working closely with the Strategy Director and Creative Director assigned this project, I helped to develop the overarching escape room narrative, and crafted concepts for each room that aligned with the storyline. I was also responsible for establishing the visual identity of the experience, one that complemented the Pfizer brand while maintaining its own distinct look-and-feel. Once the creative direction was finalized, I designed the 2D, 3D, and digital graphics featured throughout the rooms and collaborated with a fabricator to create experiential elements.
