Amazon at World Pride

Client: Amazon
Year: 2025
Location: Washington, D.C.
Studio: ADVOC8

Each year, Amazon demonstrates its support for the LGBTQIA+ community and its employee affinity group, Glamazon, by participating in the annual Washington, D.C. Pride Parade. This 2025 celebration was especially meaningful, because it marked the 50th anniversary of Pride in Washington, D.C., earning the honor of being designated “World Pride.” My team and I were tasked with designing a parade float that captured the significance of the occasion.

Pride is about celebrating the things that unite us, rather than divide us. Across the globe, we’re all on the same planet, drinking in the same gorgeous sky, rain or shine. The float design reflects this concept by featuring an Amazon-specific cloud arch as a centerpiece, surrounded by a vivid rainbow that encircled the entire float. To complement the theme, Glamazonians participating in the parade carried bright, colorful umbrellas, tying the whole concept together.

Nearly 200 Glamazonians marched and danced with the parade float, cheered on by the crowd. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and sunshine that made everyone feel like they were part of something truly special.

My Role

In collaboration with an Art Director, my initial responsibilities included researching design concepts and developing mood boards and rough sketches for each creative direction. Once a concept was selected, I created detailed illustrations that explored different design options, and partnered with an external fabricator to construct the final parade float.
